Robotics
The Robotics Team at Hicks Canyon is a 21st century learning club that allows our 4th and 5th grade students to innovate, create, problem-solve, program, code and compete as a team. In Robotics, the students learn how to use and implement the "engineering design process.” This process is a series of steps that engineering teams use to guide them as they solve problems. The design process is cyclical, meaning that engineers repeat any of the steps as many times as needed. The cycle of "build, test & evaluate, and redesign" is repeated many times as engineers and designers solve problems and improvements. The team will be responsible for journaling these steps, compiling strategies for building an effective robot, learn to drive the robot and take on leadership roles within the team. The coaches, are excited to guide and mentor the Hicks Canyon students on the Robotics Club!
